January 2025 Newsletter

We hope you had a great holiday season and got to relax and enjoy some summer days!
Our team has worked through, ensuring all our patients and their whanau have been cared for and received the support they need.

As we get back into the swing of things, we thought we would share some of the events and fundraisers we have coming up in the next few months:

  • 18 February: New volunteer workshop
  • 5 April: Riverhaven Fun Run/Walk
  • 18 May: Franklin Hospice High Tea
  • 12 - 18 May: Hospice Awareness Week

Please pop these dates in your diaries so you don't miss out on these great events.

Our Riverhaven Fun Run/Walk will be on Saturday 5 April. There is a small entry fee and you get your own fundraising page to encourage your friends, colleagues and family to help. On the day, you will have 3 hours to walk this magnificent park and look at the sculptures... or run laps - as many as you can fit in! There will be prizes for best fundraiser, best dressed etc. Keep an eye out in February, we will be sending you all the details.

Have you thought about volunteering for Franklin Hospice?

We are always needing volunteers and have many roles:

  • Working in our shop
  • Patient companionship
  • Biographers
  • Event volunteers
  • Vehicle Maintenance

and so many others. If you are interested in helping us out, please email karena@franklinhospice.org.nz

How you can help Franklin Hospice...

  • Volunteer
  • Become a regular donor - even $10 per month makes a difference
  • Attend our events. If you can't attend, tell everyone else!
  • Shop at our op shop at 27 King St, Pukekohe
  • Consider being a sponsor of our events - we have levels of sponsorship starting from $250  (for some events)
  • Leave a gift in your will for us - have a talk to your lawyer or if you want to write a new will, go to Gathered Here

We would love to know if you have any ideas of fundraisers, or would like to do your own fundraiser for Franklin Hospice

We would like to thank Harcourts Foundation for funding some nebulisers and wheelchairs for patients. Having equipment at the ready is an incredible help to our patients and their whanau.
